If you’ve been reading every blog from our community of apartments in Spring, you probably know how often we say that cooking is one of the best ways to save money every month. Although that is true, we also know that Spring is filled with top-rated restaurants that everyone should try while they’re here. That’s why we’ve decided to write a post about how to save a few bucks every time you go out to eat. That money adds up, and the more you save, the more often you’ll feel like you can afford to indulge in a night out at one of Spring’s amazing eateries!
In the blog below, we’ll be sharing some tips that will help you spend less than you’ve probably been spending at restaurants. Some of the tips require a little flexibility, but the money saved is well worth the extra effort.
Let’s dive right into this week’s blog, shall we? When you’re done reading through the post below, please be sure to share the link to this page with your friends and neighbors at Rise Spring Cypress — the new apartments Spring, TX residents choose for contemporary comfort and convenience.
If you’re going to go to dinner, go early
You can save a lot of money — and have a more extravagant dinner — by getting to the restaurant at the tail end of happy hour. Most restaurant happy hours end around 6:00 pm, so get to the restaurant around 5:45 for discounted drinks and apps. Those little discounts add up to big savings when the final bill comes around.
Get it to go
This next tip might ruin the restaurant experience for some, but there’s something to be said for trying a new restaurant just for the the food. Next time a brand new restaurant opens up in Spring, call ahead and see if you can order your food to go. Not only will you not have to leave a hefty tip for your waiter at the end of the meal, but you’ll be able to avoid the temptation to get a second appetizer, or dessert or drink refills. Speaking of drinks…
Skip the drinks
The last bit of advice on our list is the hardest to adhere to. By skipping drinks and having water instead, you can save upwards of $15 on your meal. For some people, that’s the difference between feeling like you spent a lot on a meal and feeling like you made a frugal dining decision. While you might think the restaurant experience will be slightly less enjoyable without drinks, you’ll likely change your mind after you see the drastically lower bill at the end of your meal. Give it a shot!
